Xiaomi 12 features a 6.28-inch OLED screen with Full HD resolution (2400 x 1080 pixels), 1100 nits peak brightness, 120 Hz refresh rate, with TrueColor technology, HDR10+, Dolby Vision and 16,000 levels of brightness adjustment.

At the heart of the smartphone, as mentioned, is the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC, the most powerful chipset produced by Qualcomm in 2021, with Armv9 architecture, seventh-generation AI engine, 18-bit mobile ISP, Snapdragon X65 5G modem. Along with it, we find 8 or 12 GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 128 or 256 GB of UFS 3.1 internal memory.

On the camera front, Xiaomi 12 is equipped with a set of three rear sensors: the main 50-megapixel sensor, with standard optics, has a 1/1.56″ Sony IMX766 sensor; the wide-angle is 13-megapixel, with 123° field of view; while the 5-megapixel sensor is dedicated to magnifications (2x optical) and macros. The front camera is 32-megapixel.

CyberFocus is the strong point with fast and automatic focusing, whatever you want to capture.

Night Video

Thanks to artificial intelligence (AI) algorithms and imaging technology, the video automatically brightens the scene and captures more detail than the naked eye, even when shooting in the dark, as if a night vision filter were added to the phone.

Xiaomi 12 is equipped with an extra-large vapor chamber with LiquidCool cooling, made with Xiaomi's thinnest components, only 0.3 mm, so heat flow is accelerated and internal temperature is more effectively dissipated, to allow the device to be well cooled, in all situations.

Regarding sensors and connectivity, the level is stellar considering the presence of the Snapdragon X65 5G modem that guarantees maximum performance in terms of connectivity: Wi-Fi 6, Wi-Fi 6 E (up to 3.6 Gbps), 5G SA/NSA, 4G/LTE, Bluetooth 5.2, NFC, GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, Beidou, USB C port and integrated fingerprint reader on the screen. The battery, finally, is 4500 mAh, compatible with 67 W wired fast charging and 50 W wireless charging.

But the strong point on which Xiaomi has focused most is its manageability, thanks to its relatively contained dimensions compared to current standards: it is 152.7 mm high, 69.9 mm wide and 81.6 mm thick for a weight of 180 grams.

MIUI 13 is the version of the proprietary graphical interface with which Xiaomi 12 is presented to the public, an interface based on Android 12. Xiaomi advertises it as 52% smoother than the previous version, as usual rich in features and customization options to tailor it to your needs. In addition to improvements in night shots, reserved for the photographic software, and the cooling system for the most intense gaming sessions, Xiaomi 12 is also particularly well-finished from an audio point of view, curated by Harman Kardon, thanks to the two symmetrical speakers and Dolby Atmos signature.
